Impact
At Ecowoman we are not only passionate about helping women have a natural and healthy menstruation, but we also help improve the lives of women around the world.
We donate 10% of our profits to non-profit organizations that fight menstrual poverty, which currently affects more than 500 million women.
Many of these women lack access to menstrual hygiene products or the education they need to know on how to care for themselves on those days. This leads to serious health problems, school absenteeism and social marginalization.
According to a UNICEF report, only 14% of girls and women in sub-Saharan Africa have access to menstrual hygiene products. In Asia, this number is 36%. This means that millions of women and girls in these regions lack access to safe and affordable menstrual hygiene products, forcing them to use unhygienic and unsafe alternatives such as pieces of cloth or tree leaves.
In many cultures menstruation is considered a taboo subject, resulting in women and girls not receiving adequate information on how to deal with their menstruation in a safe and healthy manner.
This can lead to health problems such as urinary and genital infections, as well as psychological problems such as embarrassment and anxiety.
We strongly believe that it is important to involve the community at large to fight against menstrual poverty. We also need to raise awareness about the importance of menstruation and the need to support women and girls who need it most in this area.
By choosing Ecowoman, you are not only investing in your own health and well-being, but also in the health and well-being of women around the world.
With every purchase, you are helping to eradicate menstrual poverty and improve the lives of countless women.
Our goal is to continue to grow so that we can direct more resources to improving the situation of women around the world.
Together, we can make a real difference.
